Thanksgiving Day Holidays

This message is coming to you from rainy, northwest Iowa = Le Mars. The rain started yesterday and hasn't stopped. At least it's not snow!
Steve, Marie & Jeff, Lynne and I went to Milford on Saturday and enjoyed dinner with my Dad, Tina, Kevin & Sadie and Connor. We played cards afterwards.
Later that night the Reiters traveled to Le Mars. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. We had a suite - very nice.
We celebrated G'ma Bernice's B-day on Sunday at Uncle Doug's house. On Monday Marie & Jeff headed back to Omaha to visit with Jeff's family. Geoff & Lynne returned to Garner/Mason City. Steve and I remained in Le Mars.
I plan to return to Garner tomorrow. Lynne and I will enjoy dinner at Terri & John's house in Nora Springs. Steve will return to Wichita after eating T-day dinner with his family at his sister, Mary Beth's house.
Bye for now.

Looking forward to the weekend...

I'm looking forward to the upcoming weekend. Why? Steve and I, Marie & Jeff, Geoff and Lynne are heading to Milford and Le Mars! On Saturday we'll be in Milford visiting Grandpa Sherrill. On Sunday thru Tuesday we'll be in Le Mars visiting the Reiter relatives. Geoff has school for the 3 days before T-day so he'll head back on Sunday. Marie & Jeff will be spend Thanksgiving Day with Jeff's family in Omaha. Steve heads back to KS on Thursday.

Geoff, Lynne and I will spend our Thanksgiving Day with Terri and John A. and some of the Sage family in Nora Springs. I'm bringing the pies!

Tomorrow I go in for a colonoscopy. Today it's only clear liquids. I start taking the medicine late afternoon. Terri is going to pick me up and bring me home.

On Saturday I had lunch with Terri and Barb. On Sunday I had supper with Geoff, Dana & Andy. Both times at Benegin's in Clear Lake!

10-NOV-2009

Wow! How time flies!

The weather for the past few days has been GREAT! After that small cold snap and week of rain, I'm glad that the sun is finally out!

Lynne came home from ISU for the weekend. It was really nice to see her again and have another live body in the house. On Saturday, we went for breakfast with Geoff, Dana, & Andy. Perkins, of course! That night Geoff & Dana joined us for pizza at the OP in CL. Two meals out in one day!

This upcoming weekend Geoff and I are going to West Bend to pick up a couch and table that Trudy gave me. We are going to meet up with Dad S. and help him a little.

We are all very excited about the weekend of the 21-22! Steve, me, Jeff & Marie, Geoff and Lynne are meeting in Le Mars for an early Thanksgiving. We are going to try to get to Milford on Saturday to see G-pa S. and Uncle Tim before they head south to Canton, TX. We will be there until the 24th. Jeff and Marie head back to Omaha for T-day with Jeff's family. Geoff has to go back to school on the 23rd for 3 days. :( Lynne will head back to Garner with me when Steve heads back to KS on Thanksgiving Day. I will take her back to ISU on the weekend.

On Thanksgiving Day, my good friend, Terri and her husband, invited us for dinner at their house. Geoff, Lynne, Dana and I will be in Nora Springs with some of her family. Terri & John are having their actual Turkey Meal on Sunday, when all the family can be there.

Well, it's time to stop. Have a great week!
Love ya,
Theresa

Happy Haunted Halloween!!!

Today looks better than yesterday but still cold. It must be very windy because my wind chimes tinkled all night - I guess it's time to take them down. Heard a parent say that she's taking her children trick or treating at the Southbridge Mall in MC and that she heard a lot of parents were doing the same thing. It certainly would be much warmer & drier! Really, Really tired of the rain. Winnabago River has flood warnings.
I plan to travel to Nora Springs today for their BIG Harvest Day. It goes from 9am-3pm. They even have hayrides! Terri A. and I will be doing the town! She wants to start the day off with breakfast at the Nora Inn.
Spooktacular Birthday Wishes to Linda A. & Denita P.
The Michael Jackson movie is playing in MC this week. I think I'll go to it tomorrow. Sybil J. wants to go. Maybe Terri A. will go too. I'll let you know.

Happy Haunting!
Theresa.

Good Day!

The weather here is a little dreary and damp. Better than snow!!
On Thursday I helped at the Conference JH/JV/V cross country meet. It wasn't too bad until the boy's race. Shortly after they started, the rain started. My job was to hand out the placing numbers to runners as they crossed the finish line. 48 soaked, gasping, tired V boy's XC runners took a number from me. I was glad I had a hat and coat. I gave my umbrella to the girl working beside me.
Last night I baked 2 doz. blueberry scones for the Court Isabella CDA Harvest Tea scheduled for this morning. I've already dropped them off at church. Yes, they were from Martin Brothers. And yes, I've eaten some. It looks really nice. The program is "Blessing Baskets" and baskets will be available for purchase. [of course]. The menu is tea sandwiches, scones, tea cookies, and TEA!
I hear Deb Dvorak is back in town! I plan to get together with her. She has been coaching and teaching in Alaska. I bet she has some stories to tell!!!
Cricket is getting clever! She now can open the cupboard door where I keep her treats and get one for herself from the box. I'm going to have to move the treats or I won't have any left!
Terri & John might be getting a new dog. Duncan will have a new brother! They hope to adopt Scotty the dachshund. He's a 3 year old male.
Well, I'll close for now - TLESR

Happy Birthday, Tina!! You're 52 today!!!

What a wet day! I'm supposed to work at the Conference Cross Country meet tonight at Klemme. We'll know by 1:30 pm today it the meet's still on. I have packed boots, winter coat, hat, umbrella, extra pants and sweatshirt, mittens & scarf! If the meet is cancelled it will be held tomorrow.
I need to make 2 doz. scones for the St. Boniface CDA Harvest Tea to be held on Saturday.
The farmer around here are aching to get into the fields. Hopefully during the next 3 days they will be able to get in and harvest.
Well. I'll close for now.

Enjoy life's everyday gifts!

I Have Been Changed For Good

WICKED was wonderful!!!! Although it looked like we might not get to see it for a short time, the wait/stress was worth it. I won't spoil it for you, but let me tell you, it was great. Yes, it was my first Broadway production. I would see it again!! I got a number of souvenirs, too! Thanks to Lynne, Tina & Sadie for sharing the experience with me. Let's go again!!!!! You can also check out original Broadway performances on www.YouTube.com.
Also, if you can, stay at the Hotel Memorial Union on the ISU campus. Nice, clean, inexpensive rooms/suites and free ramp parking. A continental breakfast is served on the weekends, too.
It snowed here in Iowa yesterday. TOO EARLY FOR THAT!! I have to work at a cross country meet in Klemme on Wed. - I hope it's warm!
I got a regular flu shot today. It seems I don't qualify for the H1N1 shot at this time. They are vaccinating young children and health care workers first.
This Sat. is the CDA Harvest Tea at 10:00am in Garner. If anyone wants a ticket let me know. Sunday is CDA Sunday.

Birthdays this week:
  • 11-OCT - Gretchen H.
  • 15-OCT - Tina S-R

Happy B-day to YOU!

Until next time,

Theresa

This is my first blog here, but not my first attempt at a blog.

What have I been doing? reading Sent by Margaret Peterson Haddix, cleaning the house, sleeping, working. Pretty exciting, huh? I put over 100 pictures on my facebook space on yesterday. Look for "Theresa LeeAnn Reiter" - that's me - on fb.
Today I was in Britt. I had 2 classes in the elementary [K & 2nd]. Tomorrow I'll be in Belmond. We had lots of sweet treats in the elem side today. I ate too much [imagine that!].
I have been busy looking/planning the annual Sherrill Women Get-Away. I have several ideas: 1. Spa Resort in Arizona, 2. Cruise from CA to Mexico & back, 3. B&B/Tours in Gettysburg, PA, 4. Mystery Weekend in SC. - to name a few. Any ideas?
This weekend, Tina, Sadie, Lynne & I are going to Des Moines to watch the Broadway play, Wicked. Saturday night Sadie is staying with Lynne in her dorm and Tina & I are staying in the ISU Memorial Union Hotel. This should be FUN!

That's all for now - TLESR
