It's Autumn!

It's autumn! My favorite time of year! I love the colors, the smells and the holidays! It was a marvelous day yesterday in Iowa!
This past weekend, I was a guest of Terri and John A. I helped Terri with her garage sale on Saturday. It rained! Later we went to the Elephant Keg for supper.
Last week I put in 56 hours of work. I can't wait to get my paycheck! I will put in 56 hours this week too.
On Friday, the Luise V. Hanson Library staff and several other staff departments at Waldorf College hosted the weekly Friday Coffee for faculty and staff. I helped by bringing a bowl of fruit. It was very nice.
Later, Marit R. and I attended a "Lunch and Learn" session at the Creative Kitchen Cooking School in Forest City. We learned how to make easy tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches for grown-ups, and microwave apple crisp. It was very good. You can find the Creative Kitchen Cooking School on Facebook.
If you get a chance, watch the movie, Hachi - a Dog's Tale with Richard Gere. Bring your Kleenex! It's based on the true story of a Japanese Akita named Hachiko and his master. It's a good family movie.

World's Largest County Fair!!

Sunday will be the last day of the 2010 Clay County Fair [Spencer, IA] - the world's largest county fair! I will be going to work in the antique booth on Friday and Saturday. I will be eating my favorites: the Stubb's Kitchen roast beef and potatoes and of course, pie! For those who remember Dale and Alicia Merriam and children, Merriam's Midway Shows will be playing the fair.

I'm getting into the routine of school. This week West Hancock has Homecoming and next week there will be Homecoming at Belmond-Klemme. Waldorf College's Homecoming is October 9th.

Lynne was home last weekend, but I didn't see her much. I had to work at WC and she went to a concert in Minneapolis with Mac.

There's really not too much more to say. Tell you more when I get back!

LOVE YA!

Labor Day News

Labor Day weekend 2010 was full of news for my sister Tina Sherrill-Range and her family! On Saturday, September 4th, Jonathan Wienhold proposed to my niece, Jessica Range. They're engaged! I also learned that nephew Devin Range and his wife, Laura, are expecting another child in the spring! What a weekend! Tina and her husband, Kevin, treated Jon's parents; Kevin's parents; Sadie and her boyfriend, Connor; Jon and Jessie; and me out for supper that night.

On Saturday, I travelled over to Okoboji to visit my Dad. I also helped out at the flea market at Vic's Corner in Spirit Lake. There were 3 flea markets going on in the area! (Vic's Corner, Treasure Village, and Dickinson Co. Fairgrounds. Boy, were there a lot of people around the area!!! UNDERSTATEMENT!

I also was able to enjoy coffee at Goodies with my niece Sadie R. My brother, Tim, was up from Texas working at the farm in WB and stopped in at Dad's house on Sunday night.

Tomorrow I start 3 days of 14 hour workdays. But I'm off on Friday! I CAN DO IT!!!!
