I LOVE this season!

I just love autumn! Have I said that before? I'm sure if you're around me enough during SEP thru NOV, you'll hear me say it a 100 times! Well, maybe not that many times!
I was pretty busy over the weekend!
On Saturday, I attended the annual Court Isabella CDA Harvest Tea in Garner. It was my first time! The food was great, the entertainment interesting, and very fallish.
Later that afternoon I was Terri's "date" at the wedding of Lindsay and Craig B. in Lake Mills. The reception was held in Kennsett. The theme was... you guessed it...autumn! The bride's colors were black, orange, and silver. Not bright orange, but rusty orange. The bride's maids wore rusty orange formals and the groom's men wore black suits. Instead of rose petals in the church aisle, there were silk autumn leaves. The reception carried out the harvest-time theme with pumpkins, leaves, and small bales of straw surrounded by 3 glow-stick-lit candle votive holders on the tables. It was very pretty! The wedding favor was a mesh sack of candy corn tied with a brown ribbon and a 'thank you' tag. The hor'dourves were meatballs, a meat and cheese tray, crackers, mints, and nuts. The meal consisted of beef or pork slices on a bun, baked beans, and macaroni salad. There were punch, coffee, beer, wine, and champagne to drink. It was all very nice.
Waldorf College is on Mid-term break until tomorrow. The library was closed Saturday thru Monday.
I'm looking forward to Halloween [just 12 days away!] Scream! Howl! Bite! BOOOOOOO!
But first, Steve will be here on the weekend. He'll pick up Lynne at ISU and bring her home. We are going up to Northfield on Saturday to meet Geoff's friend, Becky, for the first time.
Well, until next time!
Love ya!

Lovely Autumn Day

On Wednesday, OCT 6, Terri A. & I traveled to St. Ansgar to eat lunch in the Blue Belle Inn and to see/listen to a Danish storyteller. Esben Longkniv was very entertaining with the story of a boy named Daniel in song and words. Some songs were in Danish and some in English. We even got to sing along with some of the songs! BTW we each had cottage pie with thatched roof to eat for lunch. I had carmel baked apples in puff pastry with ice cream and Terri had turtle cheesecake for dessert. YUM YUM!
I also bought a book written by the proprietor of the Inn, Sherrie Hansen, titled 'Night and Day'. It's about an American woman and a Danish man who meet over the Internet. It's S-t-e-a-m-y! Who would have thought!?!
My sister, Tina, has been in the hospital with a kidney stone. Lynne and I went to Spencer to see her in the hospital on Friday. She's home now.
I finished up the OCT/NOV CDA Newsletter and sent that out on Wednesday. Our next monthly meeting is Monday.
Marie sent me a postcard and a magnet from Gettysburg, PA. She said she didn't see any ghosts!
Today I am working at the Waldorf College from 3-11p. LONG DAY! It's been very quiet so far.
Lynne came home with Scott W. on Friday. I will take her back tomorrow morning, early. She's coming to the WC library to do some homework later today. And bring me supper, I hope!

AUTUMN GOD, the planet turns
and the earth signals a change.
Open me to the transitions I need to face in my own life.
Be with me in the letting go,
the saying good-bye to habits,
relationships,
and plans that stand in your way of growing.
Deepen my trust that as I let go,
like the falling leaves,
I will always fall into your embrace. Amen.

Well, until next time....

LOVE YA,

Visit to Geoff at St. Olaf College

On Saturday, October 2nd, Lynne and I travelled north to visit Geoff at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. We met him and his roommate [Erik] and went for lunch at a Mexican place. They we traveled to some 2nd hand stores to look for a cane for Geoff as he wants to be Dr. House for Halloween. We found it. We bought some other things too.
We returned to Northfield and ate supper at a hoagi place. It was good food.
I didn't work at a school on Monday but I had a doctor's appt. I then went to work at Waldorf. Don't worry, every thing's fine. I just needed to have my medication prescriptions renewed.
I work at WH on Tuesday and Thursday, and have Wednesday and Friday off. But I work each evening M, Tu, W, & Th at Waldorf. I work there again on Saturday and Sunday. it's Waldorf's Homecoming.
Terri and I are going to the Blue Belle Inn in St. Ansgar on Wednesday to eat lunch and to hear a Danish storyteller. That should be fun!
Well, Gotta GO!!!!!
